It’s been the summer from hell in Tulsa, literally. It seems like the temp each day has been 100+ since the first of June. Air conditioners make it bearable, sort of. The poor kids…I won’t let them outside and play, not crazy about them getting heat stroke. So I decided to take them to the movies, and we decided to see Transformers 3.
First off, I could care less what the critics have to say….I go to see a movie to be entertained, and that’s about it. I’m not looking for the answers to life or care what the producer was trying to convey. I’m there to relax and have a good time. You know, take a break for awhile and avoid the heat.
That being said…Transformers 3 was a good way to relax and avoid the heat, but I think they tried too hard to make a story with this one. The first movie was great…Megan Fox and talking Robots. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with that combo. It was meant to be a fun movie, not something serious. The second Transformers movie, again Megan Fox and talking Robots, only this time the bad Robots are trying to destroy the world.
The third installment….this time the bad Robots are trying to enslave the human race. To top it off, they writers actually found a plot….and it was a fun plot. This movie focused on Sam trying to find a job, his parents upset with him for being unemployed, and Sam was living off his girlfriend. They didn’t even explain the Megan Fox departure. Still have the talking robots…they blow stuff up….but even the talking robots had a serious twist to it.
Blah….no fun. So much for trying to escape reality.
I found one part seriously distracting. That part was the voice actor of Sentinel Prime. I finally had to give up and google on the phone…..it turns out the voice actor was Leonard Nimoy. It drove me crazy for 45 minutes. 2 minutes after I googled it, he busts out with a Spock reference
“The needs of the many, out weigh the needs of the few”
Awesome Michael Bay. Way to screw with heads of your movie patrons. In all seriousness, I think it’s time for this franchise to go dark. It’s been fun, I love the Transformers, I miss Megan Fox….but I don’t think there is anything left to tell.
