Harry Potter – The end of the line

After I had my mental break down last week with my homework, I decided I just needed a break. So the wife and I took off, went to the movies, and watched the last Potter film.

I had heard a few different things about the movie…

“It wasn’t as good as the first part, it was just a quick ending to the series….”

“It was boring and dull….the fight wasn’t that good…”

“The movie was no where near as good as the book”

Well to be fair, the movies are never as good as the books. There’s always some part of the book the movie completely skips. In this case, I didn’t notice anything signifcant until the end. I wouldn’t spoil it, but lets just say it wasn’t the same ending as the book.

As far as the other stuff, I thought the movie was good. Maybe I was just ready for closure or wasn’t expecting much…either way, it was worth the money. I also watched it in 3D, which was pretty cool too.

The final end to the movie franchise was deserving…the subtle part of the movie I thought, was the moment when Potter had to face his own mortality. In that moment, you watched Harry transistion into manhood. Of course, I think the other part of that was seeing Voldermort  fear for his own life.

All in all, it was a good movie…..not an Oscar award winning movie, but who cares. I was entertained as I have been with all of the Potter movies. It’s better than watching Stallone trying to continue with Rocky or another Hollywood reboot.
