The Wife schemes….

Ok, I left off with my wife and my friends wife were scheming

If you’re married, then you know when two women start scheming, you’re just gonna lose. It’s a law of nature and nothing you do can bend or break this rule. If you’re not married and you don’t believe me, woe is unto you. You’ve been warned.

A couple of weeks go by, I’m in the last week of class at UoP and I can’t tell you how grateful I was for 6 years of school to be over. Now my wife, Aj, is hell bent on throwing me a graduation party. I honestly, could care less about a grad party…I’m just glad it’s over. Then again, I wasn’t exactly fighting off the idea either. So I got to thinking, it would be cool if Mikey and his family would show up with the new truck. At this point I had kicked around some ideas on how to revive this truck, so I was wanted to see what I had to work with. I mention this to Jaimi, she says there is no way…they didn’t have the cash. I told the wife I wish they could have made it…she mentions we don’t have any spare cash. (this should have tipped me off, it was out of character for her…)

I took the Friday off before the weeknd of the grad party, just because I could I guess. I had a long week and was tired, Aj decided she had some errand to go run. Generally I talk to Jaimi, Mikey’s wife, over Yahoo during the day. She provides me with a bit of comic relief and it helps my day go by quicker. Anyway, I had noticed she was IM’ing me off her phone, which she had never done before. Another thing that should have tipped me off and didn’t.

Ok, so I’m home alone with the dogs and I was upstairs thinking about playing some WoW. Yes, I’m a gamer. I live in a cul-de-sac and I know all the neighbors, and I know what the neighbors drive. I’ve been around and worked on cars since I was kid, so I know when there’s a strange car in my cul-de-sac by the exhaust of the car. I also tend to poke my head out the door, or peek out the window when I hear a strange car. With that being said, I hear a truck coming down the road behind my house and I thought the exhaust sounded familiar but not for the neighborhood, well then I hear it turn the corner and come down into the cul-de-sac.Truck on trailer

Well I get up and look out the window. I see a truck with cab lights pull down past my house…and it’s towing something. I knew who it was right off….only I was dumbfounded how they pulled it off. I go downstairs, open the door, and see my wife at the end of the drive way….with a great big shit eating grin on her face. For the first time in the almost 10 years we had been together, she duped me. It was in fact Mikey and family with my new truck. I was rather impressed…

At this point it’s way too dark to see anything of the truck…but I was happy to see the friends.

We didn’t get around to unloading the truck unil Sat afternoon. I was busing working on my durango and then the party kicked off. So it end up being late afternoon before we got around to unloading the truck.

It wasn’t a very well thought out plan. We ended up having to get flood lights to see in the dark…as well as having to chain the rear of the truck to a tree to help pull it off the trailer. Ya it was something else.

We got it off the trailer, and up on stands. No one was hurt….and no beer was dropped. The next morning, the truck was hanging out on the ground.
